About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced DCS Engineer to support a leading multinational OEM in the wind energy and grid automation sector. This contract role will focus on Distributed Control System (DCS) configuration, commissioning, and optimization for renewable energy and grid infrastructure projects across Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
- DCS Configuration & Integration - Develop, modify, and optimize control logic and system architecture for wind farms, substations, and grid automation applications.
- Commissioning & Testing - Oversee on-site commissioning, testing, and validation of SCADA/DCS systems to ensure seamless operation of renewable energy assets and grid automation solutions.
- Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization - Diagnose and resolve control system issues, implement enhancements, and ensure grid stability and reliability.
- Technical Support & Compliance - Provide expertise in grid integration, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity standards.
- Collaboration & Reporting - Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and grid operators to ensure project success, delivering detailed documentation and progress reports.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a DCS Engineer in the wind energy, power transmission, or grid automation industries.
- Strong knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems, including platforms such as GE Mark VIe, ABB Ability, Siemens PCS7, Emerson Ovation, or similar.
- Expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and grid control systems.
- Experience in substation automation, wind farm SCADA, and power system integration.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and control schematics.
- Familiarity with grid compliance standards (e.g., IEC 61850, IEC 61400, IEEE 1547, NERC CIP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
