About the job
The Chief Estimator is the primary member of the estimating team who has overall responsibility for the creation of quality budgets, plans and schedules.
Responsible for the oversight of the estimating process for all projects bid and awarded, and will maintain standardized procedures, methods and processes for estimating.
Responsible for supervising one or more lead estimators across multiple states.
Create and oversee analysis of past performance on projects and establish estimating standards for all future estimates.
Update and maintain the historical cost database, bid management system, and estimating software databases.
Design and implement procedures, processes, and techniques for the successful execution of all technical estimating functions.
Organize and lead the bid review process to confirm bids are accurate and to instruct the team on best practices when necessary.
Prepare project-specific Risk Registers portraying potential impact on Weiss's anticipated profits. Provide strategies to help mitigate identified risks.
Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope.
Prepares project budgets.
Actively participates in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image.
Works collaboratively and creates relationships with a variety of stakeholders, such as project team members, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and designers.
Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination.

Requirements
BS Construction, Engineering, or related degree.
At least 10 years' relevant experience
Proficient in using estimating software.
