Title: O&M Manager - Solar PV

Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 + bonus
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager to oversee technical operations and optimise maintenance processes across multiple renewable energy sites. This position requires a proactive leader who can deliver operational excellence while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical guidance for O&M activities across all sites.
- Act as the company's on-site representative during critical contractor operations.
- Manage maintenance agreements to reduce costs and maximise performance.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and implement root cause analysis strategies.
- Determine and maintain spare parts inventory for cables and associated equipment.
- Ensure all designs, installations, testing, and documentation align with legal and quality requirements.
- Review and assess technical information supplied by contractors.
- Provide specialised input to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate and oversee staff, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage daily operations at facilities, following best practices and asset management protocols.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for operational sites, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
Requirements:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in solar energy operations and maintenance.
- Proven ability to manage contractor relationships effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of utility-scale solar infrastructure, including HV/MV substations, transformers, solar panels, and inverters.
- Expertise in solar and battery storage systems.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
- Multi-disciplinary skill set, particularly in electro-mechanical systems, with practical experience.
- Proficiency in data logging and system communication technologies.
- Hands-on experience with LV/HV fault diagnostics and resolution.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of the balance of plant components in solar farms.
- Experience managing asset operations with multiple stakeholders and the ability to adapt leadership style to deliver results.
