My client is a heavy civil contractor that operates in both the private and public sectors, specializing in site work, utilities, bridges, earthen retention and road construction.
About the Position:
They are currently looking to fill a full-time Project Manager position in Cinicinnati OH . This role will oversee the day to day construction activities, project planning, scheduling, resource allocation and compliance with quality standards. Additionally, the project manager's responsibilities will span a broad spectrum including procurement, cost management, revenue & cost projections, quality management, contract administration and safety management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of the construction project timeline, including developing an early construction plan.
- Procurement of materials and subcontractors by evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes for applicable scopes and materials.
- Perform site visits and monitor progress of construction activities on a regular basis.
- Identify and address changes in scope of work.
- Develop and deliver weekly analysis reports, proposals and other required documentation related to specific projects.
- Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Act as a liaison between the company and external contacts, municipalities, etc.
- Maintain positive client relations throughout the duration of the project's life cycle.
- Oversee the punch list and closeout process.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Self-motivated with excellent supervisory and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to adapt to change of direction with concurrent projects at a given time
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost forecasting
- Familiar with and understand OSHA regulations, current building codes and contract documents
- Proficient in the use of a computer and specifically within Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software
- Knowledge of heavy highway, bridge or concrete construction and earthen retentions systems are a plus
- Education/Experience:
- Four-year college degree in construction management preferred
- Applicants with a two-year junior/community college degree may apply
- Minimum five years of project management or supervisory experience within construction industry or equivalent combination of education & knowledge with construction, design and management
