About the Company:
EWI Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading Swiss energy company that employs over 2,000 professionals. Renowned for their expertise and commitment to sustainable energy, they are seeking to strengthen their Dams and Civil Engineering business unit by hiring a Project Manager to:
- Contribute to the production of local hydroelectric power.
- Oversee the construction of new facilities.
- Ensure the safety of dams in compliance with modern standards and regulations.
The Dams and Civil Engineering Unit, part of the Electrical Energy Division, manages various dam types (vault, buttress, weight) and supports hydroelectric power stations with all civil engineering structures, including tunnels, water intakes, and power stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study, plan, and manage projects to renew dam structures, such as gated spillways and bottom gates.
- Participate in multidisciplinary projects involving the renewal of hydroelectric power stations (e.g., turbine replacement) and the extension of hydroelectric facilities (e.g., new galleries, water intakes, and storage structures).
- Lead projects for rehabilitating hydroelectric facilities, including:
- Flushing operations (managing purges and artificial flooding).
- Limiting hydropeaking (demodulation basins).
- Improving fish migration pathways (e.g., fish lifts or passes).
- Plan and monitor storage facilities in alignment with directives from the Swiss Federal Office of Energy.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: At least 5 years' experience as a civil engineer in a design office or similar environment.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong expertise in hydraulic engineering and hydrology.
- Proven track record in civil engineering project management (planning, site organization).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to summarize complex issues.
- Effective team collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Language Requirements: Proficiency in French is essential; knowledge of German is an advantage.
