Planning Specialist (Planning and Estimating) - General Infrastructure - Benin
Our client is undertaking a major infrastructure project in West Africa, and they are seeking a highly skilled Planning and Estimating Specialist to join their dynamic project team. This transformative initiative aims to tackle significant challenges in the region, including high logistics costs, inefficiencies in trade and transportation, inadequate road maintenance, and issues related to vehicle overloading.
Role Overview:
As a Planning and Estimating Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project's success by delivering accurate planning and cost estimations that align with the project's objectives. Working closely with international and local stakeholders, you will contribute to the development of robust strategies to enhance the region's infrastructure efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, ensuring alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
- Perform detailed cost estimation and forecasting for infrastructure projects, emphasizing accuracy and risk management.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to monitor progress and identify potential delays or cost overruns.
- Implement best practices and tools for planning and cost control, ensuring compliance with international standards.
- Analyze and report on project performance metrics, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation to maximize project outcomes.
- Engage with stakeholders to address planning and budgeting queries, presenting technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background: An engineering degree or equivalent (BAC+5) is essential.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and cost estimating for major infrastructure projects, with a focus on transportation infrastructure being highly desirable.
- Regional Expertise: Experience with projects in Francophone Africa is a significant advantage, showcasing an understanding of regional challenges and opportunities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost estimation tools.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in French is essential, with working knowledge of English being an asset.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
