Chief Resident Engineer - Dam and Hydroelectric Project - Laos PDR
EWI is working with International Engineering Consultancy based in Europe. At this moment they are seeking Chief Resident Engineer for recently awarded project in Laos.
Missions
- Management and supervision of contractor's activities on complex civil, mechanical & electrical process plants construction, including construction contract management according to FIDIC conditions of contract Yellow book and Red book contracts.
- You will provide oversight of the construction supervision of the projects to ensure that the design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on-site and that the requirements of the construction contract are followed.
- You will manage multi-contracts to ensure project implementation conferring to the project schedule. The successful, liaison and coordination with stakeholders, design review team/designer, and contractors on the high-profile project will be a significant contributor to the success and delivery of the overall vision.
- As Chief Resident Engineer you will lead a multi-national supervision team tasked with monitoring and supervising the contractor's daily activities, monitoring and reporting on progress, quality, health & safety, and environmental aspect commensurate with requirements of the Contract, including coaching and accompanying the project team daily, on the development/enhancement of technical skills. The day-to-day job will be also dealing with contractual correspondences, chairing the meeting, verifying payment, claims, etc.
- You will assure that all required documents e.g. manuals, as-built drawings are delivered before the handover of the project.
- You will be representing the interests of the Client and undertake the duties and obligations defined in the Contract.
Requirements
- A Degree in Civil Engineering.
- An experience as a Project Manager, Chief Resident Engineer, or Team Leader is a must.
- Experience of working on a major hydropower construction Contract in a similar capacity (Approximately 100MW) in Southeast Asian region.
- Knowledge of application and management of FIDIC Contracts.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent English both written and communication skills; also including Contractual Correspondence.
- Team player, results-focused, determined, and responsible.
- Dynamic, proactive, and autonomous, manage to create quickly good relationships in a new environment and recognized and a good communicator.
- Proven experience in building and developing Client Relationships.
Project Location: Laos PDR
Mobilization: March 2025
Assignment Duration: 24 months
Salary: Monthly gross salary USD 12,000 - 15,000
