Position - Construction Project Manager (Onshore Wind Farm)
MUST be registered as Project Construction Manager with SACPCMP
Role Summary
The Project Manager ensures Wind Turbine Installation projects are planned and executed within the scope of the contract, on time and within budget. Customer relationship management, quality control, safety and leadership towards the complete project team are key functions within this role
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordination and technical management of the site manager, e-engineers, logistic coordinators and external subcontractors.
- Sales support during the negotiation phase and key contact for the customer after the handover from Sales. Starting with the handover from Sales, driving the planning of resources and milestones needed for the successful execution of the project
- Continuous updates during the execution and all stakeholders are informed by using the agreed upon tools. Continuous evaluation, project team people management, site issue resolution. Project closing and project evaluation are key functions to be fulfilled
- Securing the project planning in accordance with contractual agreements, as well as ensuring that follow up is given to changes and relevant resources
- Responsible for project budget and any changes during execution. Cost awareness and financial control during execution is a key function
- Ensuring all mechanical/electrical installations has been performed according to the installation manual. Ensuring that the quality standards are met and exceeded
- Management of the supply contract, billing lists/invoices, claims, open issues and general relationship Management, technical communication
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or another engineering discipline.
- 5 - 10 years of proven experience as a Project Manager within the Wind Energy sector
- A strong understanding of complex projects, with an ability to see the more strategic picture, but also appreciating the site-related aspects
- People management experience and be also a team player with the ability to share knowledge
- Customer oriented with good communication skills, proactive and open personality with entrepreneurial thinking
- Excellent command of the English language, additional foreign languages would be beneficial
- Knowledge of and working in accordance with local safety regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- SAP User
