EPC Contract Manager - Solar PV & BESS - Africa
Our client is a leading force in Africa's renewable energy sector, with a strong presence across key industries such as real estate, telecommunications, financial services, energy, and innovation. Active in several African countries, they are committed to driving socio-economic transformation through renewable energy projects that meet the continent's growing energy needs.
As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an EPC Contract Manager to oversee contracts and maintain strong relationships with EPC companies responsible for constructing solar power plants across Africa.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience managing EPC contracts for medium to large-scale renewable energy plants.
- Solid references in renewable energy development projects are essential.
- Proven expertise in contract negotiation and management in the solar sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Establishment, Negotiation, and Management:
Work closely with legal, financial, and technical teams to negotiate and revise contracts for renewable energy infrastructure. Ensure contracts protect the project company's interests, support financial viability, and align with long-term technical and economic goals.Lead Contract Negotiations:
Manage negotiations with clients, contractors, suppliers, and financial interfaces, ensuring contract terms are met within budget and time constraints.Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks. Collaborate with project stakeholders to implement risk-reduction strategies.Contract Monitoring and Amendments:
Oversee contract compliance throughout the EPC phase, managing variations, escalations, and ensuring deadlines, costs, and deliverables are met.Dispute Resolution:
Provide guidance on resolving disputes with service providers or subcontractors, ensuring all conflicts are handled efficiently and professionally.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive contract records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations, reporting regularly on EPC performance and progress.Industry Insight & Market Monitoring:
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments through participation in key renewable energy events and forums.
Candidate Profile:
- Master's degree in engineering or business administration.
- Extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in managing EPC contracts.
- Previous experience working in Africa or developing countries is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of EPC contracts from both technical and commercial perspectives.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in business English.
Location: Negtiable but 100% based within Africa continent
Salary Package: €100 to €110K + expatriate benefits including housing and benefits
