Our mission is to identify and secure promising renewable energy opportunities, manage the essential processes for grid connections, land agreements, and planning, and oversee the successful execution and long-term operation of these projects.
Role and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Glasgow team and take a leading role in securing land agreements critical to the development and delivery of high-quality renewable energy projects, primarily in wind, solar, and storage.
The successful candidate will:
* Identify and engage with potential landowners.
* Conduct initial feasibility assessments.
* Negotiate Heads of Terms and oversee the preparation and registration of land agreements, including leases, options, wayleaves, and letters of authority.
* Instruct and manage legal support as needed.
* Mentor and manage junior team members.
Key responsibilities include leading the internal land function, team management, reporting, managing relationships with land agents and legal support, and collaborating with planning and engineering teams.
The role requires a well-established network of contacts, a strong drive for success, and the ability to work independently while proposing innovative solutions.
Key Skills and Experience:
* A degree-level qualification in Land, Legal, or Planning.
* At least 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in Project Management involving solar PV, battery storage, and onshore wind projects.
* RICS qualification is preferred.
* Proven experience in land assembly and managing land budgets.
* Expertise in managing agents and legal support for land agreements.
* Understanding of planning and consenting processes.
* Experience in contract preparation and managing tender processes.
* Proven track record in stakeholder management, including regulators, statutory consultees, and local communities.
* Ability to manage project teams and budgets effectively.
* Skill in translating technical details into commercial outcomes.
* Capacity to manage multiple project tasks, plan, and prioritize workload efficiently.
