We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to support and oversee various phases of this high-impact project.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Project Engineer to manage and coordinate all phases of the floating wind farm project, from initial planning through design, construction, and final handover. This role involves overseeing engineering tasks, coordinating with multiple teams, and ensuring that the project meets its objectives across all stages. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably with a background in Owner's Engineering or a similar field. The primary location for this role will be in Scotland, but we also offer hybrid working options across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning:
- Develop and refine project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements.
- Establish project milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
Design Phase:
- Provide technical support during the design phase, including design reviews, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
- Coordinate with design teams to ensure that engineering solutions are practical, cost-effective, and meet project requirements.
Procurement and Contracting:
- Assist in the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and selection of contractors and suppliers.
- Support the management of contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and addressing any contractual issues.
Construction and Execution:
- Oversee the execution of engineering and construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate between onshore and offshore teams to manage the integration of various project components, including civil works, foundation installation, wind turbine assembly, and substation construction.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce quality assurance procedures to ensure that all engineering and construction work meets project standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor project progress and performance, tracking key milestones and deliverables.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, stakeholders, and clients.
- Address any issues or deviations from the project plan and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stakeholder and Team Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between different project teams, including engineering, construction, procurement, and management.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues across all phases of the project, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address any challenges or obstacles to ensure project success.
Project Handover and Closeout:
- Oversee the final handover of project components, ensuring all deliverables are completed and meet the required standards.
- Facilitate project closeout activities, including documentation, final inspections, and the resolution of any outstanding issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an engineering role.
- Background in Owner's Engineering or a similar role, with experience in project planning, design, and execution.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in engineering design software and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering, electrical systems, offshore construction processes, and project documentation.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Ability to manage and support multiple project phases and disciplines, both onshore and offshore.
- Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical skills to address technical and project-related issues.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team, managing various tasks and priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with offshore wind farm projects and large-scale infrastructure developments.
- Experience with project management software and digital tools used in engineering and construction.
