The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a major Rail infrastructure project in Latvia.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with the South Senior quantity surveyor and the GMT Head Quantity Surveyor to implement the strategies and processes defined by the General Management Team.
- Prepare accurate quantity and cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for the project.
- Assist in the tendering process by preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and evaluating contractor proposals.
- Participate in negotiations with contractors and subcontractors to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Develop and manage budgets, monitoring costs, expenses, and commitments. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
- Track the changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections in line with these.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and measurements from architectural, engineering drawings and on-site walkabouts to determine the quantities of materials and resources required for construction.
- Coordination with Subcontractors to define and agree quantities of executed works to be invoiced.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Master of Engineeriing or similar.
- Quantity surveyor's certificate for 5 years.
- 3+ years as a Quantity surveyor in construction with at least 2 year's experience in railway project.
- High level of English, both spoken and written (at least at B1 level).
- Attention to details is a must.
- Very good analytical capability.
- Ability to commit deadlines to attend the Project objectives.
- Ability to adapt to the different stages of the Project and eventual changes to the plan.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
