Position Overview:
The Project Development Manager at the company will be responsible for managing the development of renewable energy projects from initial site identification through to the construction-ready phase. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality projects. The Project Development Manager will play a key role in advancingthe companiy's portfolio of wind and solar projects, contributing to the company's growth and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead the development of renewable energy projects, including site identification, feasibility studies, permitting, design, and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Engage and collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, legal, finance, and construction, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as landowners, regulatory bodies, consultants, and local communities.
- Coordinate with governmental authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals, ensuring compliance with local, national, and EU regulations.
Financial Oversight:
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with the finance team to assess the financial viability of projects, including ROI calculations and financial modeling.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all projects meet environmental, health, and safety regulations, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
- Stay informed of changes in regulations that may impact project development and adjust strategies accordingly.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on project status, including progress, risks, and financial performance, for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, and technical specifications.
Innovation and Sustainability:
- Drive continuous improvement in project development processes, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices.
- Promote sustainability and environmental stewardship in all aspects of project development.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Several years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on wind and/or solar energy projects.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment for renewable energy in Sweden and the broader Nordic region.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills, with experience using project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of financial principles related to project budgeting and cost management.
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects.
