Main objective of the position and Tasks Description (not limited)

They will manage site design and technical engineering in all projects in different phases for Wind and solar projects. The Project engineer must have the following knowledge:

Studies of energy yield potential, electrical engineering, transport and installation of material, mechanical and civil engineering.

They will act as technical referent for the Spain EPC Team. He/she will work in respect of the cost, delay, quality and safety in all the steps of projects: (Project feasibility study - Design and optimization of structures - Monitoring and preparation of the pre-construction phase - Preparation of the best technical solution according to energy generation, cost, etc - Monitoring the detailed engineering - Review and secure technical transmittals during construction)

They will assist the EPC team in the coordination of technical teams (external and internal):

  • Negotiating bonds through acceptance certificates and punchlist creation/closing out (PAC, IAC, FAC)
  • Assisting subcontractors with technical queries, reviewing test procedures and safe systems of work
  • Providing design reviews, ensuring electrical compliance to produce maintainable sites and to avoid errors in build process
  • Providing risk evaluation as required for HSE and Quality departments
  • Advising on material selection, providing cost/risk analysis to support a long term, quality build approach
  • Participating in subcontractor selection, PQQ, & audits to support the EPC team
  • Assist and support the EPC team in the preparation of suitable plans/drawings/layouts; being the key contact for projects; working with COE or 3rd party engineers to support communications and delivery
  • Improving ITP's to avoid missing key information and possible manufacturer issues
  • Assessing component installation to avoid costly errors; providing a set standard across projects; ensuring standards are cascaded and communicated across projects
  • Providing recommendations and ways of working to standardise installation quality throughout the UK portfolio to deliver a repetitive build for EPC
  • Engage with grid connection network operators to discuss appropriate technical solutions for projects
  • Providing technical advisory support in the construction and O&M handover phase of a project
  • Support the EPC team with documentation transfer (contracts, technical administrative) to the EPC or O&M team during the project closing
  • Actively contribute to REX; initiating future technical improvements further to lessons learnt.
  • Actively contribute to the EPC/ COE expert network in the group by ensuring that corporate technology approach and processes are used in the deliverables and working methodologies, whilst keeping a creative approach to maximize the assets output and competitiveness.

Education and Technical Skills Level

Expérience : 5 years experience as Project Engineer or Technical Advisor in renewable energy. Knowledge in project costing

Degree: Engineer degree (electrical engineering) or equivalent vocational quals in electrical engineering

Technical skills:

Knowledge of data analysis tools and GIS (valued);

Good data analysis and interpretation skills;

Experience advising clients on technical aspects of solar projects; inspection and testing experience

Experience in renewables (photovoltaic - essential, battery, Wind Desirable);

MS Office and Electrical Engineering software aptitude;

English as working language, French/Portuguese (valued).

Required Soft Skills

Rigorous, very good relationship, autonomy, strong adaptability, ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, ability to manage multiple projects / missions in parallel and to prioritize.

There will be a need to travel to Portugal or other countries, to liaise and interface with central functions (COE and EPC) when needed.
