About the Client:
Our client is a leader in the offshore wind industry, dedicated to sustainable energy solutions and innovation. They are seeking a dynamic Foundation Fabrication Package Manager to join their team and contribute to the successful delivery of their offshore wind farms.
Job Overview:
As a Foundation Fabrication Package Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the fabrication strategy for our client's offshore wind farms. You will collaborate closely with fabrication engineers and engage with the supply chain to select, commit, and contract the best fabricators to deliver wind farm substructures on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously engage with the fabrication supply chain, assess new entrants, and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Develop and update Employer Requirements related to foundation fabrication, ensuring seamless interface with other packages and departments.
- Organize and lead the supplier selection process for fabrication contractors, including prequalification, slot reservations, early work agreements, and contract negotiations.
- Identify and manage technical and contractual interfaces between fabrication, design, transport, and installation of wind farm substructures, incorporating them into contracts.
- Ensure relevant quality and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements are integrated into contracts.
- Provide technical support within the Foundations Package team and participate in the design process, particularly for secondary steel.
- Oversee fabrication and construction work during project construction phases at factories and pre-assembly/construction sites, including reviewing workshop drawings and monitoring production schedules.
- Internally report on progress, risks, strategy, and budget related to fabrication progress.
- Implement lessons learned into Employer's Requirements and internal processes.
- Follow up on offshore execution phases with occasional site visits.
- Maintain flexibility to perform site visits and travel, both domestically and internationally.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in engineering (Structural, Construction, etc.) or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in fabrication management, preferably within the offshore renewable industry.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
- Driven, pragmatic, and solution-oriented with a hands-on mentality.
- Capable of managing your workload and meeting demanding deadlines.
- Fluent in English; fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM or other design software is advantageous.
