Project Manager - Solar PV - MAURITIUS

As part of their commitment to expanding and strengthening their operations in West Africa, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a background in solar energy.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience on solar projects, with at least 3 years related to design, construction, and technical sales.
- Proven experience with rooftop, ground-mount, carport, and wheeling DG projects.
- Expertise in Low & Medium Voltage POC projects, handling project sizes up to 50 to 70 MWp.
- Knowledge of hybrid solutions with BESS is highly valued.
- Graduate from a premier university with a degree in engineering and/or electrical engineering. Advanced degrees and professional qualifications are a plus.
- Experience maintaining functional specifications, commissioning checklists, and standard operating practices for rooftop solar projects.
- Familiarity with RSA electrical norms, renewable energy regulations, and construction codes.
- Proficiency in project management practices, engineering, and solar-specific software such as MS Project, AutoCAD, PVSyst, Meteonorm, SolarGIS, Helioscope, and SketchUp.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE):
- Adhere strictly to Group QHSSE policy and affiliate-specific rules and regulations.
- Participate in QHSSE training programs and disseminate knowledge to colleagues as required.
- Report near misses, incidents, hazards, and injuries to the line manager within required time frames.
- Engage in the investigation and analysis of incidents as necessary.
- Maintain full authority to halt operations for safety reasons.
Project Management:
- Oversee multiple project executions from EPC contract negotiation to handover, emphasizing safety, quality, budget, planning, and documentation.
- Support the permitting and engineering team with local approvals and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, Quality, and compliance guidelines while engaging with suppliers, EPCs, and engineering consultants.
- Ensure project design and material selection meet contractual requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure construction quality and safety.
- Manage project construction with a focus on safety, quality, budget, and planning.
- Coordinate construction activities with contractors (EPC) and equipment suppliers.
- Ensure proper commissioning and testing of the plant according to contractual and industry standards.
- Handover projects to the O&M team and Client per contractual objectives.
- Maintain thorough documentation management.
- Build strong relationships with clients post-handover from the sales/development team.
Technical Sales Support:
- Conduct feasibility studies, preliminary solar designs, CAPEX/OPEX estimations, and solar plant performance simulations.
- Assess site characteristics, constraints, and analyze customer consumption demands during the prospection phase.
- Prepare and present technical offers to potential clients, supporting the sales team in negotiations.
- Prepare internal CITS dossiers and investment committee presentations.
- Provide technical support and contribute to approximately 25MW of awarded projects per year.
Salary Package: 70,000 to 100000 USD Per Annum
