Title: Director of Grid (Solar/Wind/BESS Development)

Salary: 85k - 100k (Flexible based on experience) + bonus + pension + private healthcare
Role overview: We are seeking a skilled electrical engineer to join our team, focusing on the development and management of energy transmission systems ranging from 20kV to 400kV within the UK. This position involves more than traditional grid design and project oversight for renewable energy projects. It requires managing the full lifecycle of substation, transmission, and distribution line projects for utility-scale photovoltaic plants/wind power facilities, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Background: Degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field with a focus on energy technology.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years working with UK Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), National Grid ESO, and/or Distribution Network Operators (DNOs and IDNOs).
- Project Management: Proven experience managing grid connection projects from medium to extra-high voltage levels.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of energy technology, including related civil engineering, concrete, steel, prefabricated construction, and electromechanical works.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the European Network Code Requirements for Generators (NC RfG) and UK grid compliance codes.
- Design Skills: CAD design experience in civil, steel construction, and switchgear projects up to 400kV is a plus.
- Leadership: Previous experience in team management is advantageous.
