Resident Design Engineer - Hydropower (Powerhouse) - Australia
For major pump storage hydro scheme in Australia, our client is seeking Senior Civil Engineer. Our client is leading the JV responsible for the design of this project, and we specifically in charge of the full detailed design of the underground Power Station.
The mission will involve various tasks within the design team dedicated to the design of the CW structures for the future powerplant and its permanent access tunnels.
Under the authority of the Technical Project Manager, the activities will include:
- Participation in Design Deliverables Production: Coordinating with the production teams based in France.
- Review and Control of Specific Deliverables, as needed.
- Participation in Internal and External Technical Meetings to address comments, ideally during production before formal comments are issued.
- Participation in Resolution Meetings / workshops about technical comment.
- Execution and Coordination of Design Activities related to thermal studies and studies on concrete formulation and durability justification.
- Coordination of Architectural Studies with the Client and the Employer.
- Post-IFC Studies Execution: Handling minor changes requested by the Client/Employer that can be managed by the SITE team. Coordination with the HO team, especially for major changes.
- Review and Approval of "Shop Drawings" Plans.
- Review and Approval of "As-Built Drawings" Plans.
- Responding to Site Questions related to design packages approved at the IFC stage.
- Occasional Inspection Visits to the Site, based on needs related to initial concrete activities (prefabrication of MH elements).
- In the context of such visits and if non-compliance is identified, direct communication with client representatives on-site to resolve issues, if possible.
Prerequisites:
- Educational Background: master degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in reinforced concrete structures.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 10 to 15 years in civil design of major structures, preferably including one site experience.
- Key Competencies: Autonomy, teamwork, effective communication, attention to detail, and technical curiosity.
- Software Proficiency: Office suite, Robot or Ansys. Recommended: AutoCAD.
- Sectoral Experience: Prior experience on large-scale civil engineering projects will be a significant advantage.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English.
Start Date: ASAP
Location: New South Wales (Remote Location)
Salary Package and Rotation:
- Monthly Salary: 10,000 euros net (AUD equivalent)
- 5 days on / 2 days off or 14 days on / 7 days off.
- Leaves are based on 5 weeks / year.
- Accommodation provided by client
