Hours/Days: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Solar Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of solar energy projects. The successful candidate will manage the entire construction process from initial planning to project completion. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including design teams, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Project Planning:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure accurate project specifications and requirements.
Contractor Management:
- Select and manage subcontractors and clients.
- Oversee the bidding process and negotiate contracts with construction partners.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all construction activities adhere to regulatory requirements.
Site Inspections and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets and expenses, making adjustments as needed.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising project quality.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address issues that may arise during construction to minimize project delays.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Foster effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including installation, procurement, and finance.
Timeline Management:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Manage project timelines and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes.
Key Skills
- Multiple years of experience in the construction industry
- Multiple years of experience as a project manager
- Experience in the solar industry is desirable
- Background in electrical, civils, or roofing is advantageous
- SMSTS qualification is desirable
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Effective communication and reporting abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage risk
- Full clean driver's license
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home for project duration is essential
