Field Service Site Supervisor - Hydropower (Rolling Contract)

Rolling Contract - Long-term engagement with potential for extension based on project requirements

Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Site Supervisor to join a leading international hydropower organization on a rolling contract basis in Norway. This role is critical to the successful execution of large-scale hydro projects, with a focus on coordinating and supervising on-site activities to ensure safety, quality, and technical excellence.

The successful candidate will work closely with a regional Field Service Leader and act as the key point of contact at site level, providing leadership, problem-solving, and guidance throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate Field Service activities on hydropower construction or refurbishment sites in accordance with project scope and contractual commitments.
  • Lead site preparation, daily planning, and execution of works including troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Supervise and support the site team, ensuring high performance and alignment with project targets.
  • Participate in design and planning reviews, offering site-driven feedback and technical input.
  • Ensure full compliance with EHS, quality, and regulatory standards throughout site operations.
  • Provide swift solutions to technical problems during erection and commissioning phases.
  • Support the growth and development of on-site personnel.
  • Maintain effective communication with wider project teams and share operational feedback with other service functions.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in the hydropower sector, particularly in site supervision, erection, or commissioning.
  • Background in a technical apprenticeship, or education in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and/or electrical rotating machines.
  • Fluent in Norwegian or Swedish (required for on-site coordination).
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across Norway, often in remote areas.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a safety-first approach.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience coordinating teams in a multicultural project environment.
  • Strong project coordination abilities and confidence managing site-level interfaces.
  • Service-oriented mindset with the ability to balance quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead by example, especially in enforcing EHS standards.
