Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer with TP141 authorization to support a major Transmission & Distribution (T&D) project within the grid solutions sector. This role involves commissioning high-voltage (HV) substations, ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and project requirements. The work will primarily be based in London and surrounding areas, focusing on grid infrastructure development and modernization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute commissioning, testing, and energization of HV substations (132kV, 275kV, 400kV) and associated equipment.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with TP141 procedures, National Grid safety rules, and project specifications.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and system integration for protection and control schemes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning.
- Work closely with engineering teams, site managers, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, reports, and test records.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in commissioning high-voltage substations (132kV-400kV) within T&D and grid solutions projects.
- TP141 authorization (or eligibility for authorization).
- Strong technical knowledge of protection and control systems, SCADA, and substation automation.
- Hands-on experience with HV equipment testing, relay protection schemes, and system integration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to commissioning challenges.
- Willingness to travel to project sites within London and surrounding areas.
