Role Overview
The Head of Project Engineering will spearhead the design and engineering of Solar + BESS + Diesel/Gas hybrid installations, some of which include MV/LV distribution networks. This pivotal role requires a visionary engineer who can maintain exceptional design standards while ensuring cost-efficiency and quality. You'll be at the forefront of design innovation and team leadership, guiding projects from conceptual design through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Mentor engineers, ensuring skill enhancement in solar, storage, and hybrid systems.
  • Oversee design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Design & Technical Oversight

  • Supervise design processes for renewable energy projects, integrating electrical, mechanical, and civil elements.
  • Ensure compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize designs for performance, cost-efficiency, and ease of maintenance.

Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

  • Develop processes to enhance design accuracy and reduce rework.
  • Implement quality control systems to manage risks effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvements in design methodologies.

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Manage designs from concept to construction, aligning with project goals.
  • Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work with internal teams to align designs with business and client needs.
  • Maintain relationships with external consultants and contractors.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in renewable energy.
  • Champion design innovations to improve project efficiency and performance.

Qualifications & Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, with a strong background in renewable energy.

Experience

  • 10+ years in renewable energy system design, including 5+ years with Solar + BESS + Diesel/Gas hybrids.
  • Proven leadership in engineering teams and project design management.
  • Experience in C&I and mini-grid sectors, handling projects from 500 kWp to 10 MWp.

Skills

  • Expertise in hybrid energy system design and MV/LV distribution networks.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, and other design tools.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary: 54,000 to 65,000 USD Per Annum (Gross)
