EWI have an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Senior Level Archaeologist to join a multidisciplinary environmental team with an ESOP company based in Sacramento. This role offers the chance to work closely with experienced Principal archaeologists and become a key member of the Cultural Management Team. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and involves leading cultural resource identification and evaluation efforts for various projects. Responsibilities include conducting field surveys, archival research, engaging with Native American Tribal Governments, and drafting cultural reports in compliance with CEQA and NEPA regulations.

Key Requirements:
- BA or BS in anthropology, archaeology, history, or cultural resource management (MA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in cultural resource management/archaeology in California including:
- Archaeological Field Survey
- Extended Phase I Presence/Absence Testing
- Comprehensive Report Writing (sole author preferred)
- Native American Consultation
- Historical Groups Consultation
- Archival Research
- GPS/GIS data collection and mapping
- Familiarity with federal and California environmental laws (Section 106, NEPA, CEQA)
- Preferred experience with public works, transportation projects, and the Caltrans Section 106 process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature research and record searches.
- Coordinate Native American consultations.
- Lead archaeological field surveys and prepare site documentation.
- Conduct archaeological excavation (testing and data recovery).
- Write cultural reports, including those in Caltrans format.
- Develop and implement mitigation and monitoring reporting programs.
Compensation and Benefits:
