About the Opportunity:
Our client is in the bidding stage for the "Technical Assistance to the Bangladesh Renewable Energy Facility" project, financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB). If awarded, the project is set to commence in April 2025 and will run for four years.
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader with a strong background in renewable energy (solar & wind) and extensive knowledge of the Bangladesh power sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing large-scale technical assistance projects and working closely with government stakeholders, financial institutions, and project developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical assistance team for the Bangladesh Renewable Energy Facility.
- Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for solar and wind projects.
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders including EIB, SREDA, BPDB, RPCL, PGCB, and other relevant entities.
- Utilize analytical software such as PVSyst® or similar to evaluate project feasibility.
- Assess and implement capacity-building strategies for local institutions.
- Perform risk analysis and due diligence for renewable energy investments.
- Develop bankable reports and recommendations for project financing.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Fluent in English (C1 CEFR level); knowledge of Bangla is an advantage.
- 15+ years of professional experience, with 10+ years in consulting on utility-scale grid-connected renewable energy projects (solar & wind).
- Extensive experience in South Asia (mandatory); prior work in Bangladesh is a strong asset.
- Successfully led at least 2 projects as Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader, covering both solar and wind energy.
